As a young man I was always looking for a way to customize my car with the best parts and aftermarket products I could afford, to set myself apart from my friends and others in the early 2000's car culture.
With Fast and the furious mentality in full swing we customized our cars to death with everything and anything we could, and in doing so I learned how quickly a vehicle can become untastefully modified. Spending money were I didn't have too, only to be unhappy with the results.
After years of working on my project cars and trucks I finally ended up working for a small window tinting company in Okotoks installing Flat glass tint where I spent 3 years honing my skills under the owners mentorship. It was there I learned all about different types of window tint, Paint protection film, Flat glass tint, Vinyl Graphics and Vinyl Wraps. I also took several film installation courses with trainers like Justin Pate (Avery Dennison wrap training) , the Blanchard brothers (3M Graphics installation training) and various Xpel Certified trainers both in Calgary and San Antonio Texas for both window tint and paint protection film, and Ceramic Coatings.
The start of Okotoks Tinting
I starting Okotoks tinting in 2018 and I wanted so much to focus on products with excellent warranties that are backed up by a good customer service which I found with Xpel. Their focus on the customer experience and their attention to detail with their products really impressed me so I aligned my company to grow with their product line.
I wanted to make sure I was able to offer my customers a product that would last the test of time and look awesome doing it, with the newest and best technology available so they would never have to feel the way I did when I was younger, unhappy with the results or longevity.
Since opening, my team size and experience have increased to add a PPF installer Joel who has since moved to the UK is 2022 and continues to install window tint and paint protection film there. Another Tinter, Ed in 2020, and 2 Paint protection film installers Lukas and Kaitlin in 2022! Lukas came with Detailing and paint polishing Experience which many of our customers have taken advantage of!
GOAL
My goal for this blog is to lend a professional opinion on the different services offered in the vehicle protection and customization industry, with a few Do's and Don'ts and product reviews to keep you up to date on a very fast changing industry!
